(It would be smart to add a watermark to the videos/pictures with your contact information) By providing as much information as possible, it will help reduce time spent answering questions that the advertisement could address like mileage and overall condition of the car.

Places not to advertise your used car

There are some places you should not post your used car for sale. The first platform to avoid is social media, it seems like the perfect place to advertise given the vast number of people who use social media all of the time.

The issue with social media is the people who shop on this platform are not professional car buyers. Most of them want to try and buy a car cheap and then flip it for a profit.

Posting on professional platforms

While posting on professional platforms like AutoTrader will give you better quality prospects, it is not a level playing field. You are competing with established professional sellers who know all of the ways to get their advertisements in front of prospective buyers.

You will not be able to compete against these sellers and your advertisement will get lost with the rest.

The best and most cost effective way to sell your used car is to turn to the experts for help. Your local car dealership would be happy to buy your used car. With the shortage of used cars, everyone is trying to get inventory.

Once you bring your car to the dealership, they will present you with a competitive offer based on the current market conditions.

If you accept, you will walk out of the dealership with the money. You will not get 100% of the current market price of your car because the dealership has to make a profit reselling the car but you don’t have to deal with any of the headaches that come with selling used cars.
